The name gypsy steak can be a bit misleading, because it is not a classically fried piece of meat. Chicken or pork noodles are used for preparation, which are mixed with other ingredients and the resulting mixture is actually fried into patties, but there is no mistake! Therefore, think about an apron and the preparation of gypsy schnitzels can begin.
Schnitzel with chicken noodles? Indeed, it is!
Preparation of the necessary ingredients
For this recipe, you will need 400 g of meat, 4 eggs, 4 onions, 4 spoons of potato starch, a spoon of soy sauce, half a spoon of curry, a spoon each of sweet paprika, salt and pepper. Finally, you will also need enough oil to fry the cutlets. Depending on your taste, you can also add ground chili pepper, garlic, leek or Worcestershire sauce.
A mixture of meats
First, cut the meat into small strips and the onion into cubes. Put both ingredients in a bowl together with eggs, potato starch and spices. Mix everything carefully and let it stand for half an hour. Then prepare a pan for heating the oil. Scoop up the meat mixture with a fork and put it in the pan. Bake patties until golden on both sides.
Gypsy steaks can be fried both in a pan and in a pan.
A side dish for gypsy schnitzels
Gypsy schnitzel is especially great with potatoes. You can make mashed potatoes, mash them or leave them to cook. Serve the potatoes with a piece of butter, topped with fresh vegetables and sprinkled with chopped chives. You will serve an original lunch that everyone will enjoy!
Chop off the bone
Gypsy schnitzel can also be prepared from pork cutlet in three packages. And why exactly meat with bones? The answer is obvious. Thanks to it, the meat will be juicier and much tastier. But when tapping, be careful not to separate the meat from the bone, so don’t tap too close to it. Wrap the pounded meat in a traditional triple wrap and let it fry.
